II. Nigger

The second cycle examines the racial designation “nigger” as an inherited linguistic and social structure rather than merely an insult. The works confront the instability of racial identity through portraiture, inscription, humor, and contradiction, refusing fixed definitions of Blackness while exposing the historical weight language carries across generations. The cycle investigates how a word can shape both perception and self-construction long before an individual has the opportunity to define themselves.
