VI. Bible Belt

The sixth cycle investigates Christianity as an inherited cultural and theological environment, drawing heavily from Jonetz-Knude’s years living in Tennessee. Dissected also is familial ornamental Catholicism and military religion.  Biblical language, sermons, evangelical traditions, and religious symbolism are examined as living structures rather than historical artifacts. The works consider belief, redemption, judgment, and grace as forces that continue to organize both individual lives and collective identities.
