IX. Forefathers

Forefathers turns toward ancestry itself, examining intellectual, familial, spiritual, and historical lineages. The cycle considers those who have shaped the painter—not only through bloodlines but through ideas, institutions, traditions, and historical circumstances. Rather than offering conventional portraits of ancestors, the works investigate the mechanisms through which inheritance is transmitted across generations, making genealogy itself as well as association by affinity the primary subjects.
